About Me.

I grew up surrounded by art, my childhood was spent in art studios and art galleries. From an early age I have shown a great interest in the arts. My mother is a fine arts teacher and she always allowed me to explore her materials, she always taught me new techniques and when I got older she let me participate in her projects. I have always been stimulated to create, to transport my emotions onto paper or canvas.

I am originally from Brazil but grew up in Portugal, I moved there when I was only four years old and stayed there until I was 18. Portugal was a great country to grow up in, I learned a lot and grew up a lot there but never had the opportunity to study art while there due to family conflicts.  However at the age of 18 I moved to England to follow my dream of studying arts. It was with great effort and dedication that I managed to get into the Cambridge School of Arts in Cambridge, after having had no further academic art qualifications whatsoever. I admit it was chaos at first, I was completely thrown to the wolves, I really didn't know what I was doing, I even thought of giving up several times, but I never did, I was persistent and fought for my dreams.

I am currently in the second year of my Fine Arts degree. On this course I was able to explore different types of media, and this is how I discovered that my true passion is photography and experimental film. I loved working with this media, I feel I am able to give the fullest of myself in this way.

One thing I always keep in mind in my projects is the emotions I want my works to transmit to the public. I want my audience to feel the same way I felt when I made it. I want them to have access to my innermost being, to be able to touch my soul. And I feel that the best way I have found to do this is through film and photography.

What moves me are my emotions, what I feel in relation to what surrounds me. This is what moves me to make art, it is the need to express myself, to transmit my feelings and emotions, to have a voice, to make myself heard.

I’ve led a life fully devoted to the arts. It’s no lie to say I live, breathe and dream of art.I have experience in a range of media, although I have my own particular preferences that I keep coming back to. If my style speaks to you, I’d love to work with you in the future. Please be in touch to find out more and to discuss how we can collaborate on whatever you have in mind.

Education

2016-2019

Escola Secundária Sebastião da Gama

I studied science and technology in high school. Although I had no artistic training in high school having studied science helped me a lot as an artist. I have already developed several projects with a scientific basis, for example my project about the metamorphosis, or one that I developed about physical and chemical reactions. This background in science has helped me a lot to progress as an artist because science is something that fascinates me and so is art and this way I can combine both my passions.

2018-2019

Education First EF

Near the end of secondary school I decided to take a course in England to improve my English, so I went to an international education company specialized in cultural exchange, educational trips, language courses abroad and preparation programs for English speaking universities, called EF. I went to the London campus and the Oxford campus to study. In this institution I managed to reach level C1. It was after doing this course that I decided that I wanted to come to study in England.

2019-2023

Anglia Ruskin University

I started by doing a foundation year in Art and Design. I decided to do this foundation year to adapt to the UK academic system and to have a better adaptation process.  I got great grades and ended up with a good average.

After doing this year I decided to enter the Fine Arts degree where I am now.
